Cinco de Mayo is a day we all love to celebrate with plenty of special events across Nashville and the rest of the country. But before the revelry begins you might be surprised to know that Cinco de Mayo is not actually a celebration of Mexico’s independence — like our 4th of July — as many believe. In fact, it celebrates the Mexican army’s 1862 victory over France at the Battle of Puebla. Although not observed as widely in Mexico, you’ll often find parades and reenactments of the battle, especially in and near Puebla.
Here, Cinco de Mayo has become a celebration of Mexican culture and heritage, and one we at Las Palmas think deserves to be enjoyed all day long!
That’s why we’re hosting an All-Day Happy Hour with half-off draft beer and Las Palmas’ house margaritas. These small or jumbo-sized margaritas are available in lime, mango or strawberry and served frozen or on the rocks.
For those not so margarita-minded; our All-Day Happy Hour draft beers include Modelo Especial and Bud Light.
Aside from these specials, we have an expansive full beverage menu that includes Michelada, a range of bottled domestic and Mexican beer as well as wine and your favorite mixed drinks — Long Island Iced Tea anyone?
Plus our specialty margaritas: There’s the Margarita Tropical, a frozen margarita with three flavors: lime, mango, and strawberry; the Margarona, a frozen lime margarita with a Coronita®; the Vinorita, a frozen lime margarita with Sutter Home® sangria; the Palmarita, a jumbo lime margarita with tequila of your choice, Grand Gala® and our special mix; and even a Skinny Margarita, a made from scratch lower calorie margarita made with 1800® 100% blue agave and our special mix. Or for those who like it hot, try the Cucumber Jalapeno Margarita made from scratch with fresh cucumber, jalapeño and 1800® blue agave.
Don’t forget the perfect accompaniment - fresh, authentic Mexican food from Las Palmas’ new menu!
Come celebrate Cinco de Mayo with us!
